My love of journaling…
There’s something about bringing pen to paper that’s so magical to me. Ever since I can remember I’ve had a journal. Whether it was from the fourth grade when I was talking about the latest drama on the playground or now where I just love to talk about my day. For me, journaling is the perfect way to wind down. I honestly just find it so fun and relaxing! Right now I have three different ways of journaling that I love, and I wanted to share them with you!
My Design Book
Anyone that knows me, knows that if I had the choice of whether to go out to a party on a Saturday night or spend my Saturday night cutting up design magazines and collaging, I would choose collaging in a second. Here are A FEW pages from what I like to call my big black book of interior design.
If you didn’t write about it, did it even happen? Some days I’ll write about what I did, but I also think it’s really fun to write about random things like my love of peaches for instance. I know this journal will be a great treasure of mine years from now, when I get to look back at some amazing memories.
Q&A a Day: 5 Year Journal
This journal is such a fun way to look back at how I’ve changed over the years. Each page of the journal has a new question it asks. It could be anything from what you ate for breakfast that day or when was the last time you went swimming. My favorite part is looking back at what I wrote last year and seeing how much/if my answer has changed at all.
Thanks so much for reading! I hope you got some good journal inspo!
Why I’ll never stop loving Romantic Comedies…
Anyone that knows me, knows there’s nothing I enjoy more than watching a nice romantic-comedy (also known as a rom-com) to unwind. Some might call it sad, but I think I’m happiest while watching a Nancy Meyer’s movie. I literally think I have seen every rom-com in existence and that’s not even an exaggeration. I blame my mom who might love watching rom-coms even more than I do. When people used to ask me what my favorite movie is I would always try to say something impressive by saying Goodwill Hunting, Dead Poet’s Society, Catch Me if You Can, The Fugitive, etc. (all amazing movies by the way that I 100% recommend). However, when I think of my favorite movie it’s definitely a romantic comedy.
Here are my top 10 favorite romantic comedies…
1. The Holiday (2006)
Whenever I’m in a sad/bad mood I always watch this movie. Honestly if you haven’t seen this movie yet, drop everything that you’re doing and WATCH THIS MOVIE.
2. How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003)
Such a classic. Kate Hudson became my ultimate girl crush after this movie.
3. Mamma Mia (2008)
Not even kidding when I say I watch this movie once every two weeks. It has such a happy and carefree vibe to it that makes me want to drop everything and move to an exotic island in Greece every time I watch it.
4. You’ve Got Mail (1998)
Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan play the ultimate star-crossed lovers. Struggling antique bookseller (Meg Ryan) and owner of corporate Fox Books bookstore (Tom Hanks) might hate each other in person, but when they only know each other online as Shopgirl and NY152 it’s a completely different story…
5. Love, Rosie (2014)
I love this movie!!! I think it’s the overall aesthetic and vibe adds to the creative storyline. With all the twists and turns the plot line took I didn’t know what to expect by the end of this movie.
6. A Cinderella Story (2004)
I remember the first time I saw this movie like it was yesterday. I was six, and I snuck down to watch it with my sister and and her friends while they were watching it down the basement. I blame this movie for giving me unrealistic expectations about love, high school, and boys since the age of six.
7. Crazy, Stupid, Love (2011)
If you want to watch this movie for just one reason do it for Ryan Gosling’s abs. That or Steve Carrell and Emma Stone being hilarious as always.
8. It’s Complicated (2009)
The ultimate guilty pleasure. Sometimes I watch this movie just to stare at Meryl Streep’s kitchen in awe.
9. Sweet Home Alabama (2002)
This is my mom’s all time favorite romantic comedy and she has impeccable taste. This movie tells the story of a young woman who’s reinvented herself as a New York socialite, but inevitably returns back to her roots in sweet home Alabama.
10. Friends With Benefits (2011)
Such a funny movie to watch whenever you might be in the mood for a laugh. I seriously love this movie so much it has such a fresh take on the typical romantic comedy.
Now obviously it would be wwwwaaayyyy to hard to only list my top 10 rom-coms so if you finish watching my top 10 favorites here a lot more suggestions for how to spend your friday night (;
